My Word For 2013

This year for 2013 I will be participating in the One Word 365! instead of me trying to explain it, I will just simply copy and paste it form there website cause I can't put it in any better words than what she has already.

Forget New Year’s Resolutions. Scrap that long list of goals you won’t remember three weeks from now anyway. Choose just one word. One word that sums up who you want to be or how you want to live. One word that you can focus on every day, all year long. It will take intentionality and commitment, but if you let it, your word will shape you and your year. It will guide your decisions and help you grow. Discover the big impact one word can make. One word.  365 days.  A changed life. _____________________________________________________________

I've never been big on New Year Resolutions. It just didn't seem to ever fit me. Then I found out about this and I was amazed. And after all it is very easy …

By Faith

"And without Faith it is Impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists." Hebrews 11: 6
Faith. We all have it and well we all need it. Their is a piece in us that is always lacking Faith. Either in others ( trust) or simply not having Faith In God. No matter what, there will be that small piece with little Faith.

In this chapter we see that the writer of the Hebrews, takes us through history, and tells us everything that happens through Faith. It can be simply be summed up to one line thats from the passage above: Without Faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please god, Because Anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists. If we look at the Hebrews 11: 4 Abel HAD to believe in God, HAD to have Faith in God, to give him his BEST sacrifice.
It is by Faith that we must serve God. Cause if we don't have Faith in God, then what good is it to Pray? What good is it to go to Church? What good is it to preach the good news? We must have Faith. We…

Christmas Prayer

Lord,  My New Born King, I thank you for the many  blessings you give me everyday. I Thank you for the Love of my family.  My Lord and Great God, my king, in which  today is born in the little town of Bethlehem.  I Pray that you, my king, will come and be born  into the hearts of my family, and all believers.  May you come and bless us, and be with us every day!

Merry Christmas!

I have to say how much I HATE how society just shuts down all Christmas things the day after Christmas and yes sadly even the day of Christmas. WE are to focused in getting prepared for Christmas and then we don't celebrate Christmas.
Christmas isn't just a 'one day event' it's a two week celebration. It's a time in which we must learn to continue to carry the love of Jesus Christ in our hearts. It's a time of where we feel that joy and greatness in our hearts every single day.

God loved us SO MUCH! That he sent his only son, to be conceived by the power of the holy spirit into the Virgin Mary.  And to this day Jesus loves us SO MUCH! He is born into our hearts and will stay there... If we pay attention to him and talk to him.

Think of a time when it's super cold out. Lets say a typical Winnipeg Winter Day. Maybe around -28. What would be the first thing you grab? I know I would grab my favorite  warm green sweater.  I would put it on, to well keep me …

Are You Prepared?

A voice is shouting  in the wilderness,
'Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him. 5
Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. 6  And all people will see God’s salvation.' Luke 3: 4-6
Are you prepared? Are you prepared to welcome Jesus? With this Advent season that has come  and gone, it was so  hard to make time to become prepared. Christmas decided to come early this year. It decided to give us one day to celebrate the fourth week of Advent. I think it is save to say, Advent zoomed right past us.

We heard this message from John two weekends ago, with a voice shouting in the wilderness. In this passage John is telling us to be prepared. We are to prepare the way for the Lord. Now, John, isn't talking physically. He is talking about us and our lives.

He wants us to be prepared for the coming of Jesus. He wants everyone to be ready for when the Lord comes and so he does thi…

Forth Sunday In Advent

Today is the only day of the Fourth Sunday of Advent. I find it very odd how it turned out this year. With Christmas eve tomorrow and then Christmas Day on Tuesday. I think I prefer it this way instead of having to wait another full week waiting for Jesus to be born into our hearts.

This weekend we heard from Luke. We heard the story of when Mary went and visited her cousin Elizabeth. I think we often loose the image that Elizabeth is most likely in her 90s and Mary is her teens. As we can see; A Huge difference in age, but nevertheless, they are still cousins.
In this reading we are told that the child within Elizabeth leaped with joy when she heard Mary's welcoming. The child within her already knows that the person visiting has the future king of the world inside her. So, he leaps for joy when the sound of Mary comes.
We all leap for joy when we hear the sound of someone. If it's a family member, a friend, a co-worker, someone from our church. We all get that burst of energ…
Dear loved ones, As you well know, we are getting closer to my birthday. Every year there is a celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many radio announcements, TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is talking that my birthday is getting closer and closer.
It is really very nice to know, that at least once a year, some people think of me. As you know, the celebration of my birthday began many years ago. At first people seemed to understand and be thankful of all that I did for them, but in these times, no one seems to know the reason for the celebration. Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they don't know the meaning of the celebration.
Remember that last year there was a great feast in my honor. The dinner table was full of delicious foods, pastries, fruits, assorted nuts and chocolates. The decorations were exquisite and there were many…

Sandy Hook Elementary School

I personally do not live in the United States of America, I live up here in the cold north of Canada. I have lived in Canada all my life and visited Florida. But regardless where I live, or where you live, I'm sure that today, we all have heard about the shooting in Newton, New York at Sandy Hook Elementary School

Sadness has filled homes and lives, over the death of 27 people. 18 children, 6 adults and the gunman. Today, we gather in the sympathy and sorrow for the families affected by this tragedy. With this sadness that spreads the shocking news from one person to another, we join in one prayer; The protection, safety and healing of the families, and children who are effected in this shooting.
As we take time today, to pray for those families, friends, kids, and strangers, let us also pray to God for all those who plan on doing horrible things. Let us pray for those who have the temptation ( lack for better word) to do evil, who think it's acceptable to shoot innocent litt…

Mean while in Las Vegas...

Here is a little joke, to possible lighten up your day :D

There are more churches in Las Vegas than casinos. During Sunday services at the offertory, some worshipers contribute casino chips as opposed to cash.
Some are sharing their winnings - some are hoping to win. Since they get chips from so many different casinos, and they are worth money, the Catholic churches are required to send all the chips into the diocese for sorting.
Once sorted into the respective casino chips, one junior priest takes the chips and makes the rounds to the casinos turning chips into cash. And he, of course, is known as

The Chip Monk.

We all have heard of the word Pride. And as most of us like to think that we don't have Pride; We all do, at one time or another. We always have had Pride and always will, we can limit to how much we have or show our Pride. But at the end of the day, we all have some Pride.

Firstly, Pride can mean many things. We can all carry Pride, of a sports team, or High School, Collage ect. But that's not the Pride i'm talking about. I'm talking about Self-pride. If that makes sense. Pride means, to have delight in an inordinate self-esteem; TO take delight in an act, possession. Having Pride, in being the best.
Next,  we need to answer the simple question, " Why is Pride bad?"
Pride, refers ti the emotion of self respect. It focuses on Me, Me, Me, Me, and ME. It's all about self-will, Self-sufficiency ect. And well has Christians/ Catholics we are wanting what others want, taking in others opinion; wanting others opinion. Wanting others involved. We want Oth…

When it's hard to Pray, Prayer the Hardest

When it's hard to Pray; Pray the Hardest Monday. Monday wasn't the best day for me. The day went slow, and loooong and I just wasn't feeling it. It wasn't the greatest day. It was a typical Monday, in which I wasn't looking forward to. From the moment I woke up to the time I got home I wanted Monday to be over. I found it really hard to find God, and feel is presences, maybe thats why I had a tough day. Nothing special happened.... until the end of the day... On one of my many prayer tables I have three rocks. They each have saying on them. one says, "Faith" another says, "believe" and the other " Hope." About a year ago, I had lost my "Faith" Rock and It was no where to be found. I looked for a week, and then accepted the thought I had lost it and wasn't going to find it. I was going to buy a new one, but I never did. Then, one Monday ( This past Monday) before I went to bed, I was looking for something, and then out of…
