*NEW* Act of Consecration to Saint Michael ****

His Story

Name: St Michael The Archangel.

Feast Day: September 29

Patron Saint Of: Police Men, Grocers,

Depicted Has: An Angel in Armor with a spear, the scale of Justice and usually over coming the devil.

St Michael, Is one of the Seven Archangels and one of the three actually named within Holy Scripture. (The other two being St Gabriel and St Raphael) St Michael is best know for defeating the devil. The most popular story of St. Michael is in Revelation 12: 7-9. He called by God, to lead the army of heaven to fight against the army of wicked devil.

Within the book of Daniel St Michael is regarded to as, " The protector of Israel"

The word 'Michael' means, " Who is Like God." St Michael is also referred to as, " The Chief Prince" (From Daniel) St Michael is always depicted wearing armor, to represent his protection, and battle with the devil, when he had destroyed the devil.  St. Michael Is depicted with either a Spear or a Sword and also, The Scale of Justice. Saint Michael holds the scale of Justice because, he is the one that decides who is in and who's out.

He holds the Scale to be in balance with mercy and Justice. For having to scale mercy and Justice is the closest thing to, " Who is like God" It's one of those things that make him like God. It's also a symbol of the final judgement. That he will be their scaling our Justice and Mercy.  In many prayers to St.Michael they talk about him bringing us into the heavenly kingdom without our enemies harassing us. Which doesn't surprise me, for he judges who goes to heaven and he protects people from their enemies.

Saint Michael was a God-Made-Saint. He never lived on earth however, he did visit it a few times. Like in Joshua, although he his not named, it is said to be Saint Michael because he identifies himself as the Commander of the army of the Lord. He also showed and helped Daniel out through his visions  and to help him fight the king of Persia.

St Michael has 4 duties to do: 1) Wage battle against the Devil ( Defend the church)  2) Save the souls of the faithful from the evilness of the devil 3) To protect the people of God 4) To lead souls that have departed from heaven, and present them to the Lord our God for their particular judgement.

St Michael is Our Personal Protector. He is The Protector of the Universal Catholic Church. He is the Protector of the Tabernacle. He is The Protector of all Souls. He is The Protector of The Light of Christ. He is the Protector of the Gate of Heaven.  He is The Protector of The Word Of God.

With Saint Michael known as the Protector of all these things places him in the heavenly choir Seraphim and Archangels. You may have heard it that Archangels are the second last from the most power. But they actually have the most power, because they  are "Chiefs or Leaders."  Saint Michael is known to be in charge of the Heavenly Seraphim or 'Prince of the Seraphim'

St Michael is head of the Army in Heaven. When ever there is evil in the world, St Michael is their to stop it. He is their to protect all Gods People. St Michael is the great prince

The main prayer to St Michael, was created in 1884 by Pope Leo XIII. He was sitting in the middle of mass when he started to look pale, and what was said to be almost sick. His eyes were locked on top of the celebrant's head. His face was a face of horror and awe.

He quickly got up and went into his private office. After an hour and a half later the pope called for the Secretary of the Congregation of Rites. When he opened the door, the pope handed him a piece of paper, and said, " I want this printed and sent to every ordinaries in the world" On this paper was the prayer to Saint Michael.

Yes Pope Leo only lasted a few more years, but while he was saying mass one time, he was leaving the foot of the altar, and then he stopped and turned around. He looked closely on top of the altar then collapsed. He was escorted by some cardinals to a room. Later he was asked what happened and this was his response:

As I  was about to leave the foot of the altar, I suddenly heard voices - two voices, one kind and gentle, the other guttural and harsh. They seemed to come from near the tabernacle. As I listened, I heard the following conversation:
The guttural voice, the voice of Satan in his pride, boasted to Our Lord: "I can destroy your Church."
The gentle voice of Our Lord: "You can? Then go ahead and do so."
Satan: "To do so, I need more time and more power."
Our Lord: "How much time? How much power?"
Satan: "75 to 100 years, and a greater power over those who will give themselves over to my service."
Our Lord: "You have the time, you will have the power. Do with them what you will."

Shorter Prayer To St Michael

St Michael the Archangel
Defend us in battle.
Be our protection against
The malice and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him,
 we humbly pray
and do though O Prince of the heavenly host,
By The power of God,
Thrust into hell
Satan and all evil spirits
Who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls

O Glorious Prince of the heavenly host, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom Almighty God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of Satan.

Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in Heaven. That cruel, ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory.

This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity.

These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be.

Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defence against the malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly find mercy in the sight of the Lord; and vanquishing the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.

V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.

R. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered the root of David.

V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.

R. As we have hoped in Thee.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.

R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray.

O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as supplicants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious St. Michael the Archangel, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all the other unclean spirits who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of souls.

Forgive... Not Seven times but Seventy Seven times

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.
Matthew 18:21-22
It's very hard to forgive. Forgiveness is essential to our life here on earth. Jesus gave us the perfect example of forgiveness while he was on earth. Jesus loved us so much that he bore all our sins on the cross that goes before us. Every wrong we have done; every pain has become  A LOT LIGHTER because Jesus bore it before us.
Jesus is asked by his own, disciples, how many times should they forgive. Because they know that they have to forgive, and they know they everyone does wrong, but how much is enough? We need to draw a line right? No.
Jesus tells us that we shouldn't just forgive seven times. He told us to forgive 77 times. Or 77 X 7 times. Which is a more perfect number. Jesus told us that we must forgive has many times that someone does wrong. …

Fishers of Men

I have had the pleasure recently to start teaching again the First Penance and Eucharist at my Parish. It is always  a great time for me to know that I am laying the seeds of God in their heart and knowing that I am preparing them for a once-in-life-time event.  I love seeing the kids who are earnest to learn and who want to be there.

In todays' Gospel, we are presented with an overview of Jesus life. Jesus does three distinctive things, that Matthew wraps up very quickly. He teaches, proclaims, and heals. These three unfold for us what we can expect from Jesus during his life time.  However, before he begins his own life and mission one thing had to happen- the Death of John the Baptist. John, we know, was the last of the Prophets and his main mission was to make sure people were finally ready for the King  to come. Jesus, therefore, couldn't start until the paths were made straight.

Jesus mission on earth is the great light that has appeared in the darkness. In…

Feed My Sheep

During this Easter season we are given the opportunity to listen and reflect on the word of God from the Gospel of John. For the third and final time this weekend, we will hear a post-resurrection appearance of Christ to his apostles. It is through these appearances that Christ proves his resurrection, dispels the darkness of doubt in his apostle’s mind, and commissions them to make known the love and joy of these events to the world.

The Gospel this weekend tells us that after the death and resurrection of Christ, the disciples have returned to fishing, as they once did before they followed Christ. These skilled fishermen do not catch anything all night, until a man comes on the shore of the beach and tells them to cast their net on the right side of the boat, and they catch an abundance of fish, that the net should have broke, but it did not. After they caught these fish, the apostles realized that it was the Lord, who has now called them a second time from their job of fishing to …
