Loving God and Our Neighbour

"Jesus answered, " The first is this, "Hear O Israel: the Lord Our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your Soul and with all your mind, and with all your strength, the second is this, ' You shall love your neighbour as yourself."

Mark 12: 29-30

In this passage Jesus is responding to the scribes who had come to Jesus saying, " Which commandment is the greatest?" Jesus then sums up the Commandments into these two. Which are by far easier said than done. The Ten commandments are split up into two sections: Our relationship with God and our relationship with others. So Jesus sums it up as, " Love God with everything you are, and treat others the way you want to be treated. Our Lenten journey is a journey to follow these rules. Each day we are challenged to love God and to love others. Jesus is our guide on this journey to truly live these words. While on earth, Jesus' life was filled with devotion and dedication to our Father, and to sharing love to other people. Through constant prayer we are given the strength to follow Christ in loving God and loving our neighbour.  As we continue our journey to the Cross, which is coming soon, may we continue to work to love God and to love our neighbour
